ABS SoCal is having a bamboo propagation event in Temecula at Coop’s Roost on April 29th beginning around 11 am. Clumpers will be divided for Society bamboo sales held at San Diego Botanic Garden. Contact Gordon at coopsroost@netzero.net for directions and additional information.
We're giving away a Free Bamboo when you show up to our propagation workshop with your smiling face! Bring your gloves, too, and a willingness to learn from a pair of experts in bamboo propagation.
Lunch and Refreshments provided by please bring clothes and shoes suitable for digging and a comfortable pair of gloves. Maybe a hat and sunscreen if you’re feeling it!

Yes, you can always go to a nursery and buy bamboo plants… but did you know that you can dig them up yourself and start growing them successfully? We can teach you how!
Join us for a few hours in Temecula, Southern California at the “Coop’s Roost” and learn these propagation techniques that you can quickly apply to start your own bamboo groves:

The Bamboos are back!
Come join us at our annual Fall Bamboo sale happening this September at the San Diego Botanic Garden. We can help find what you need for your garden, whether you are interested in ornamentals, functional screens, or something entirely else. You can also tour the Bamboo Gardens to see how the plants do in-ground.

Gerard Minakawa and Bamboo DNA will be leading a two-day workshop in collaboration with Joshua Tree Music Festival and local artist Bobby Furst to install a permanent bamboo roof over a gorgeous earthen seating area called “Sanctuary”, bringing much-needed shade to the desert audiences.

Hands-on learning experience! We'll be creating a permanent bamboo shade structure: Pole selection, knot tying and lashing, finishes and other structural considerations will be taught in the process of setting up a large installation.
